antoine's observatory

This is my observatory for which construction started in the summer of 2009 and was completed in 2010.

Hi. Again, welcome to my website and I hope you enjoy the beautiful astrophotos that I have taken of the wonders of the university. Remember, "If you don't start somewhere, you won't finish anywhere."

The telescope on the side of me is an Orion EQ-G computerize mount and a 10" Orion Astrograph Tube. On top of the Astrograph Tube is an Orion 1200 mm refractor tube. I use a Canon Rebel T2i camera and a 2-inch TCF-Si Integrated Temperature Compensation Motorized Focuser to focus the camera. The Orion 1200 mm refractor tube has a SBIG 402 ccd imager which I use to guide the Orion mount when I am imaging the sky.

The telescope in the back of me is a 10-inch Orion telescope which I have been using for about 6 years. I use that telescope to do visual varible star research when the sky is too bad for imaging. By having this additional telescope, I get the best of both worlds and I am not limited to just imaging all night. While my EQ-G telescope is being used for imaging, I can use my 10- inch Orion telescope to look at other objects in the sky.
